Aravind Srinivas is an Indian-American AI researcher and entrepreneur who co-founded Perplexity AI in 2022 with Denis Yarats, Andy Konwinski and Johnny Ho. Perplexity is an AI search engine that combines retrieval-augmented LLM generation with citation-rich answers, positioning itself as a Google Search alternative for factual queries. The company has grown rapidly and is one of the most prominent of the post-ChatGPT generation of AI startups.

Srinivas's earlier career was at Berkeley (PhD with Pieter Abbeel), OpenAI and DeepMind, where he contributed to research on reinforcement learning, contrastive learning and the early development of GPT-3.
